Engine 10

2006 Pierce Dash Pumper with a 600 Gallon Tank, 1500gpm pump. Engine 10 has Advanced EMS Life Support capabilities and carries a cardiac monitor and drugs. Engine 10 also carries advanced pediatric resuscitation equipment.  Other equipment includes water rescue supplies, rescue rope, and vehicle extrication tools.
  Engine 10 has a paramedic assigned to it at all times.

  Engine 10 averages anywhere between 300-340 runs every month.

 

 

Ladder 10

  Ladder 10 is a 2004 Pierce Dash Tiller Ladder with a 100’ aerial ladder.

  Ladder 10 carries Basic Life Support equipment which includes oxygen and an AED.  Ladder 10 carries the Jaws of Life and other hydraulic tools.  Ladder 10 also comes equipped with its own confined space rescue equipment, rescue rope, and a generator to power the Christmas lights.
  Ladder 10 is the only true ladder truck covering over 150 square miles of Jacksonville’s west side.   Ladder 10 averages 140-170 runs every month.

Safety 2

  2003 Chevy Tahoe.  Safety 2 responds to all incidents ranging from house fires to automobile accidents to gas leaks.  It is the Safety Officer’s job to make sure firefighters are operating in as safe as an environment as possible.   The Safety Car is also responsible for all Job Injury and motor vehicle accident reports.

Fire 5

  2003 Chevy Tahoe. Fire 5 is the Battalion Chief for the JFRD’s Second Battalion.  He oversees the staffing of 4 fire districts and overtime for the JFRD.

Fire 5 responds to any major incidents involving fires and/or full assignments which include extrication, hazardous materials incidents, and any other emergencies requiring Incident Command.
